Race 2: Results in results tab (top menu)....
Another big thanks to all those riders who rolled up and had a go! A very solid and pleasing turnout again with the showers and Mebbin Marathon perhaps keeping a few away. Was definitely run in the right spirit and lots of people (riders and spectators) had fun. The mud factor not as high as in Race 1 but some of the corners were slippery and best not attempted in a tuxedo. Course has held up extremely well again and we'll get feedback from council in the next few days.
Some new faces this time which was great. Especially encouraging to see a good turnout of kids. It's a good course for kids and if some of the younger ones struggle then can easily reduce the distance they travel. Also good to see people travelling from further afield (Warwick, Lockyer Valley etc).
We're halfway through the 4 race series (all the dark, wet races are done now!!) and we'll list a cumulative points tally shortly. We're working on "Summer Cup" trophies and other prizes for the overall series placegetters.
Organisers had less hiccups this time after learning from mistakes in Race 1. The atmosphere certainly seemed more relaxed under the tent. And we had a very good group of volunteers being supervised by some race-hardened specialists! Huge thanks to Wayne, Andrew, Bobby, Kylie, Josh, Cherie, Chris & Dave for doing the "indoors" stuff. And also thanks to Bobby, Wayne, Cherie, Michael, Shane, Todd, Jeremy and Tony for getting out on the track and helping. Big thanks to Ayup (Matt) for the lights which helped quite a few riders out of a dark spot. And as always, good to see the For The Riders crew there in support. Well done! We'll keep trying to iron out more of the problems for race 3 on Sun 21st Mar (morning start). Please let us know if you have any constructive comments about how we can improve. Hoping to see further fantastic support from riders. Please bring the kids and a friend!

The Summer Cup short course race series returns for 2010 at Underwood Park. Underwood is a short 3.3km track (underwood_park_2010) which is a good chance for beginners to try XC mtb racing. We will have A, B, C, D grades (for both male and female) and also a kids race (U13). We will start A and B grades together; grades C and D together; and kids do one lap with adults riding in support.
